(三) 日不讀書，面目可憎:
形容人不努力充實學問，以致孤陋寡聞，令人厭惡。如：「『三日不讀書，面目可憎』，在工作之餘，應多讀好書充實自己。」

盡信書，不如 (無書):
語本孟子˙盡心下：「盡信書，則不如無書。吾於武成，取二三策而已矣。」後指讀書不可拘泥於書上所載，一味盲從。宋˙陸九淵˙政之寬猛孰先論：「嗚呼，盡信書不如無書。」
