由於房價上揚，近3年大台北地區首購族的平均購屋總價及購屋年齡，都明顯上升，台北市中心區的平均首購年齡高達39.2歲，其中，中正區更以平均40.8歲，居大台北之冠。
「台北居，大不易」，想要「三十而立」，恐怕也不是件容易的事。根據永慶房產集團針對成交資料分析發現，2013年大台北地區首購族平均購屋總價，以台北市中心區平均1,731萬元最高，其次為台北市郊區的1,533萬元，而新北房市熱區以1,040萬元居末。
如果與2011年前相比，大安、中山、中正、松山、信義等北市中心區首購平均房價，3年來增加了129萬元；其他的北市郊區平均房價更增加了267萬元；板橋、新店、中和、永和、土城、新莊等新北熱區的房價也增加了155萬元。
大台北地區房價高，民眾的購屋壓力不輕，在台北打拚多年的爸爸何時才能給家人一個「家」呢？統計發現，2013年北市中心區的平均首購年齡高達39.2歲，3年來平均增加了2.2歲，堪稱最難入住的首購區域，如再細分各行政區，其中又中正區的平均40.8歲，居大台北之冠，排名第2的信義區也要40.0歲。
永慶房產集團研究發展中心經理黃舒衛表示，這幾年大台北房價穩步上揚，但個人所得並未明顯成長，民眾的首次購屋年齡明顯有所延後，雖然「三十而立」是許多人的夢想，但以2013年大台北各區平均首購年齡均介於35-39歲來看，30歲想要在大台北購屋的難度並不小。不過，年輕的首購族也別灰心，只要能排除原本的生活地域限制，往房價較低的區域找尋，並盡量選擇高坪效小宅或低公設的公寓產品，一樣可在有限預算內入住大台北。
黃舒衛也建議，相對於大安、信義等精華地段的高房價，新北市的板橋區不但與北市相鄰，且具有「三鐵共構」優勢，加上是新北市府所在地，工作就業資源相當豐富，因此成為首購族的最愛；而中和區因有環狀線建設題材的加持，近3年也吸引不少首購族入住；至於文山區，因緊鄰大安區，平均每坪房價在45萬元上下，僅約大安區房價的一半，對於有意取得北市門牌的首購族來說，相當具有吸引力，也成為北市最主要的首購區域。
