美聯社報導，巴西聖保羅警察與罷工示威的地鐵員工9日在市中心地鐵站爆發衝突；工會揚言，本周將持續罷工，世足賽開幕戰12日舉行那天也不例外。

當局對地鐵罷工憂心忡忡，地鐵為世足賽球迷12日前往球場觀賞開幕賽的主要交通工具。球場位於聖保羅市中心以東約20公里處，觀光客多數下榻市中心。

約100名罷工工人遭警方以催淚瓦斯，從市中心地鐵站驅離，工人罷工9日進入第五天。聖保羅約有半數地鐵站仍營運，但班次大為減少。
